Sound Therapy 4 Pets was established by Sarah Heath and Jon Bowen, two internationally renowned veterinary surgeons who work exclusively with pet behaviour problems. They are the authors of a best selling veterinary textbook on behaviour and lecture in the UK and internationally.
Sarah and Jon originated the idea of using specially made sound recordings in combination with Dog Appeasing Pheromone as a treatment for sound phobias in dogs. The "Sounds Scary" product was launched in 2001, and was the first to provide detailed information to clients along with specially made and modified sounds that were designed for phobia treatment. Recently this approach has been proven effective in an independent study comparing Sounds Scary with another CD-based therapy product.
Sounds Scary produced a significantly better result, with 93% of users saying that they would use the product again if they had a dog with a similar problem. Users of the competitor product found that in 30% of cases it was ineffective. Now Sound Therapy 4 Pets produces a range of CD products, as well as selling useful behavioural aids such as DAP and Feliway. We also provide information for assessing and treating behaviour problems so that customers can get the best out of products and reduce their pet’s problem behaviour.
